Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana 2023: Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana has been launched by the central government. The scheme was launched on 28 August 2014. This scheme (PMJDY) is a financial scheme of the Government of India. It aims to make financial services like bank accounts, payments, loans, insurance and pensions easier for common people. This scheme was inaugurated by Shri Narendrabhai Modi. The objective of this scheme is to connect all the households in the country with bank facility.
Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana:
Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana Under this scheme Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes families will be connected with bank facilities. This scheme was implemented in two phases. In which the first phase will be from August 15, 2014 to August 14, 2015 and the second phase will be from August 15, 2015 to August 14, 2018.
Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana:
Under Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana everyone can open their account with zero balance. A debit card is also available. This scheme launched by the central government has been implemented in two phases. In which uneducated people living in rural areas or age eligible people are joining this scheme easily. Under this scheme, various facilities have been made available by the bank to the candidates. In which many types of facilities like money transfer debt, money investment, disaster insurance assistance and loan assistance are available.
Based on PMJDY 2022, more than 46 crore accounts have been opened from August 18, 2014 to 2022 i.e. in 8 years. According to the information received by the financial account, 1.74 lakh crores of rupees are already there. With the help of this scheme, 67% people living in rural areas are getting connected with banking facility

Assistance to candidates under Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana:
- 1,00,000 will be given to the candidates under the Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana
- 30,000 additional insurance assistance will be provided to those who opened the account on 26 January 2015
- Jan Dhan can also avail overdraft facility of Rs.50,000 every 6 months after opening the account.
- The scheme will be run under the slogan ‘My Account Fortune Teller’
- According to the information received by the central government, 24.61 crore women have joined this scheme till 29 December 2021.
- In the second phase, pension micro insurance facility has been introduced. Under this, loan assistance and pension assistance will now be provided to the beneficiaries.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Yojana, the candidates will be given an accident insurance assistance of Rs.1,00,000
Now candidates can open account near their residence. The different types of subsidy received under this scheme will be directly deposited in the Jan Dhan account of the candidates
The age of the applicant should be between 18 years to 59 years to get the benefit of this scheme
